Brewpubs
A LIFE WITHOUT FRIENDS IS A LONG JOURNEY WITHOUT A GUESTHOUSE.
Oststraße 123, 40210 Düsseldorf
Welcome to our “Stammhaus”
In the STAMMHAUS on Oststrasse, our SCHUMACHER specialties are brewed with a lot of love and experience. Enjoy Altbier fresh from the oak barrel with delicacies from the brewery kitchen.
Whenever there is an unmistakable hint of hops and malt in the air around Oststrasse, then the people of Düsseldorf know for sure: The brewers of SCHUMACHER are brewing!
Of course, our restaurant and our brewery invite you to refresh yourself with traditional Altbier on tap – freshly tapped, of course! Treat yourself to classic brewery fare and typical Rhenisch dishes. Everything from the mayonnaise to “Thea’s fried potatoes” to vegetables and salads, “Pillekoke” and applesauce, is home-made and hand-made.
In nice weather our Brauhof is one of the most beautiful beer gardens in downtown Düsseldorf. But don’t wait too long: the seats are in high demand, especially when the smell of the grill pleasantly wafts into your nostrils. Or you can reserve our “SCHUMACHER TREFF” for your celebration – a small open air pub in the courtyard.
In our Stammhaus we offer various rooms and corners for every occasion in which you can enjoy your SCHUMACHER ALT in private. From weddings to divorces, from baby showers to funerals, from carnivals to communions, anniversaries to farewells: we are the right, charming and professional host for you. Talk to us, we will be happy to advise you.
Bolker Straße 44, 40213 Düsseldorf
Welcome to "Im Goldenen Kessel"
In the middle of the Altstadt (old town), in “IM GOLDENEN KESSEL”, businessman meets postman, the long-time resident meets the globetrotter. Family-owned for over 120 years, this is our most traditional brewpub.
In the heart of Düsseldorf’s old town you’ll find the historically most important brewery bar IM GOLDENEN KESSEL on Bolkerstrasse. This house has been a living Düsseldorf cultural hotbed for over 120 years.
For example, the first bust of the Düsseldorf-born poet Heinrich Heine was placed here for public viewing. Today he still looks upon the happy goings-on in the Golden Kettle. The medical faculty of the Heinrich Heine University was also founded here with one or two SCHUMACHER ALT as well as many (traditional) associations.
Anyone who comes to visit us in the IM GOLDENEN KESSEL can look at the history of the city in many original pictures from the Düsseldorf School of Painting. Altbier was also brewed in this house until 1925. Today, our traditionally witty and friendly Köbesse (waiters) serve – as is typical for breweries – businessmen, workers, foreigners, people from Düsseldorf, men, women, or simply friends with one, two, three (…) 1838s or SCHUMACHER ALT.
